Involved Parenting From Birth To Age 7

Through this program and manual, parents learn to effectively participate in the educational development of their children. Parents will understand the physical, emotional, and intellectual characteristics of children at various ages and be provided with activities that will enhance the development of their child.

The goal of this early childhood program is to provide parents with information and activities to nurture and stimulate children from infancy. An early foundation of learning and play provides the concepts of social rules that are used throughout life and are necessary to function in society. Since play is how children learn about the world, this program provides ideas to enhance a child's play experience.

The program is designed from birth through age seven. The chapters are divided into separate age groups to provide the optimal learning benefit for parents and their children and to allow for age appropriate activities for each group. Each section is written with a general overview of the child, followed by the developmental progression and finally, a list of activities and materials that can be used to stimulate that development.

A staff development program on this topic is available from National School Services®.
