Activities for Reluctant Readers
Program
Content
This workshop
trains educators how to work with early readers with a variety of experiences
to enhance their interest in reading. Literature Activities for
Reluctant Readers by John and Patty Carratello, is used to show
how books and activities can be introduced to spark curiosity and imaginative
thinking. Since many primary aged children have limited literature based
experiences, this workshop explores methods to help children grow to
love books. The connection of books to other curricular areas and to
the child's whole learning experience will also be addressed.
